This Jim Bunning thing would be really funny if it weren't so serious (people are being hurt right now because of Sen. Bunning)
Jim Bunning has effectively done what Saddam Hussein attempted to do in the '91 Gulf War, he's launched a metaphorical scud missile into the heart of the bi-partisan 'coalition' support that was in favor of extending the unemployment benefits.
He's fractured something that held the Rep's in a pretty decent light in terms of unemployed Americans. What will be interesting to watch now is how the GOP divides into 2 camps, those who support passing the extension and those who are not in favor of passing the extension.
Rand Paul who has been the front runner in the KY Senate race so far has unexpectedly backed Bunning and so has Trey Grayson.
Bunning puts GOP in quite a conundrum.
Sit back and watch the public backlash ;-)
