From the Fayette County Democratic Party:
Dear Friends,
In the aftermath of the awful events in Tuscon yesterday, President Obama has called for a moment of silence on Monday, January 10, at 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
In the statement issued by the White House, the president said the moment of silence is to "honor the innocent victims of the senseless tragedy in Tucson, Ariz., including those still fighting for their lives," and "It will be a time for us to come together as a nation in prayer or reflection, keeping the victims and their families closely at heart."
Please keep Congresswoman Giffords (who is in critical condition), her family and staff, the other victims who were injured and their families, and the families of the deceased in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Brenda McClanahan,
FCDP Chair
